The Atlas

Padel's built world, mapped.

A slow, curated record of the courts worth a detour, and the knowledge to walk onto any of them.

Court No. 001

Holy Padel

The church stood disused for nearly twenty years before padel arrived in 2024.

Stockholm, Sweden

Court Philippe-Chatrier, Roland-Garros

Once a year the terre battue is repainted and glass courts rise at Roland-Garros.

Tennis's most famous clay holds a padel court for the Premier Padel Paris Major.

For one September week, Chatrier belongs to the small court.

Paris, France

Court No. 005

Great Living Padel Arena

Billed as Europe's highest padel court, roughly 1,822 metres up at the Kempinski.

Four glass walls, a few metres from the St. Moritz slopes.

Thin air, thick snow, one court.

St. Moritz, Switzerland

Court No. 006

Padel Islands

Two courts float on the Jumeirah Lake Towers lake, the skyline standing around them.

Launched in 2022 as the world's first floating padel court.

Open around the clock. The water does not close.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Court No. 007

NEWGIZA Sports Club

Premier Padel's first African tournament was played here in 2022.

Outdoor courts with the pyramids as the tour's postcard backdrop.

The circuit keeps returning. Some backdrops cannot be beaten.

Giza, Egypt

Court No. 008

Reserve Padel Seaplane

Six glass courts on Watson Island, at the old Miami Seaplane Base.

Flying boats left for the Bahamas from this spot starting in 1926.

Now the takeoffs are lobs, facing Biscayne Bay and the skyline.

Miami, United States

Court No. 009

Padel Haus

Two vacant Brooklyn warehouses converted into New York's first padel clubs.

Steel columns were relocated to make the courts fit.

White oak floors, terrazzo locker rooms, industrial bones.

Brooklyn, United States

Court No. 010

Värmekyrkan

A panorama court inside a 1927 boiler house in Norrköping's industrial landscape.

Built in 2021, when the pandemic emptied the concert hall next door.

Ten-metre ceilings and a planned run of two months. Temporary by design.

Norrköping, Sweden
