The System · The VÆN Padel app

You drive home replaying one point.

By Thursday the score has faded. The System is a padel app built to remember the nights for you and carry your player identity from court to court. It is real, it already speaks five languages, and it is coming to your phone.

The rating

A number that remembers what the court makes of you.

Built from your matches, nothing else. It moves the night you play and holds still the weeks you cannot. Turn up at a club where nobody knows you and it says, quietly, this is where you are. Never given.

Competitor

Established

A number built from your matches, nothing else. It moves the night you play and holds still the weeks you cannot.

The ladder

Six bands, one scale, from your first night to elite.

The rating runs from 2.0 to 8.0. Where you land is where the court has put you, and anyone can read it at a glance.

Elite

The court goes quiet around you. Nothing here was given.

Competitor

You play the point three shots ahead. The bracket takes you seriously.

Advanced

You read the glass before it answers. Mistakes cost you now.

Club

You hold your own on a Tuesday. The regulars learn your name.

Improver

The wall stops surprising you. You start to have a side.

New

First nights. The ball is faster than the plan, and that is the fun of it.

Matchmaking

Open games at your level, in your range.

The open-games board shows who is playing near you tonight. Every game carries a rating band, so the match is fair before the first serve. You find a fourth without the group chat.

Matchmaking finds open games at your level, inside your range. Only players whose rating fits the band can join.

The nights

Americano nights, run for you.

Everyone plays with everyone before the evening is out. The System draws the rounds and keeps the count, so the only thing you have to organise is getting there.

The record

Every match writes itself down.

The court, the partner, the score you argued about at the table. Not a feed, nobody performs here. One winter you scroll back and find the Tuesday all of this started.

The third half

The third half keeps no score, and the System will not give it one. No streaks, no badges, no leaderboard at the table. It runs the match, then goes quiet the moment the chairs come out.

Empty padel court under a single floodlight at night

No date on this page, on purpose. A rating meant to follow you for years does not get rushed out in a season.

Questions

What is the VÆN Rating?
A single number on a 2.0 to 8.0 scale, built only from your matches. It moves the night you play and holds still the weeks you cannot, and it carries from court to court so a club that has never seen you knows your level. Its reliability is earned by matches logged (Provisional, then Building, then Established), never a fake certainty.
What is matchmaking on VÆN?
An open-games board that shows who is playing near you. Every game carries a rating band, so only players at your level can join and the match is fair before the first serve. You find a fourth without the group chat.
What is an Americano in padel?
A social padel format where everyone plays with everyone: partners rotate every round and every point counts toward your own running total, not your pair's. The System draws the rounds and keeps the count, so the only thing you organise is getting there.
What languages does the app speak?
Five: Dutch, French, Spanish, German and Italian, served automatically by your browser language. English is the brand home.
How much does the app cost?
Free to start. Your rating, your match record and matchmaking are included, so you begin playing without paying. Deeper features come later, on top.
When does the app launch?
When it is ready, and not before. It is in development and coming to iOS and Android. We would rather say nothing than print a date and miss it, so the waitlist hears the date first.

The only door in.

The first players come off the waitlist, the same list that covers the drops. Free to start, your rating included. Put yourself on it, then go play. The door opens from this side.
